NewYork, NY – January 22, 2008 – Sierra Fresh Air Systems introduced a new player to the field of Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) this year at the AHR expo in New York, NY. The DCV is a packaged rooftop system built to handle the extreme conditions encountered when tackling the design challenges of providing ventilation air. Enhancements over common RTU designs include the exclusive DHTD™ indirect fired burner (Patents Pending) with turndown ratios as high as 100:1 and up to 88% efficient; patented AdaptAire™ DDC controls (BACnet, LON, N2, and Modbus compliant); integral condensing section using environmentally friendly R410a refrigerant; and extended stainless steel drain pans that are fully compliant with ASHRAE 62.1. The DCV also incorporates a low profile design that is easily accessible for routine maintenance and designed to lower the cost of parapet walls enhancing the appearance of the buildings where it is deployed. Five years in development, the DCV was designed to assist building owners, facility managers, and design engineers in achieving substantially more LEED points and to comply with ASHRAE 62.1 by decoupling the ventilation system from the rest of the heating and cooling systems. This “decoupled approach” or “DOAS” design is proving to be one of the most effective and efficient methods of providing fresh clean air to satisfy building needs.
